Park Maintenance

Turf Maintenance

The Champlin Parks and Public Works department is responsible for mowing, fertilizing and broadleaf weed control on public property, including all City parks.

Playground Inspections

The Champlin Parks and Public Works department inspect playgrounds throughout the City quarterly. Residents should report any vandalism to the City.

Play Field Maintenance

The City's playfields are maintained on a daily basis.

Courts (Basketball / Tennis)

The City's courts are maintained on an as-needed basis (i.e. seal coating, resurfacing).

Ice Skating/Hockey Rinks

The City's skating facilities are maintained on a daily basis as weather permits. The season is generally from the middle of December to the middle of February.

Public Building Maintenance

The Parks and Public Works department is responsible for the maintenance of all park buildings as well as the municipal buildings.

Trail Maintenance

The Parks and Public Works department is responsible for maintaining trails located in the City, primarily those adjacent to the school or the MCTO bus line parking areas.

Boat Launch

The Parks and Public Works department is responsible for the maintenance of the boat launch area located on the Mississippi River in Champlin.

Pond Maintenance

The Parks and Public Works department mows the pond areas (sump lots) three times during the growing season.

Adopt-A-Park Program

The Adopt-A-Park Program assists the Parks and Public Works Department in keeping our City parks clean, allowing the department to perform other tasks on a more timely basis. Once again, the Champlin Parks and Recreation Commission is very excited to offer your organization an opportunity to become involved in the Adopt-A-Park Program during the upcoming season. This program has been a tremendous success. Program participation not only provides assistance to the maintenance of the park facilities but also shows genuine concern for the community. The program is modeled after the MNDOT Adopt-A-Highway Program and is designed to involve the community in a personal commitment to provide a cleaner and safer park system.
