12-Month Moratorium on the Retail Sale of THC Products

At their meeting on July 25, 2022, City Council took action to approve an Interim Ordinance placing a 12-month moratorium on the sale, testing, manufacturing and distribution of THC products.  The ordinance imposes a one-year moratorium on the retail sale of THC-infused edibles and drinks within the City of Champlin. The purpose of the moratorium is to provide sufficient time for staff to study the issues related to the potential sale of THC related product.

Web Notice Qualifications per Minnesota Statute 331A.03

On October 22, 2018, the Champlin City Council authorized the use of its website as an alternative means of dissemination of solicitation of bids, requests for information and requests for proposals as permitted by Minnesota Statute 331A.03. Notice of this change was published in the Champlin Dayton Press on November 1, 2018 and the law required a six-month transition period, ending May 1, 2019, when notices were required to be published in the official newspaper while also posted online.
