Code Enforcement Division

Code Enforcement is a division of Community Development. Code Enforcement is responsible for rental housing licensing and inspections, property maintenance, and vacant/foreclosed property monitoring.

Property maintenance is guided by the Zoning Ordinance and the International Property Maintenance Code (IMPC). The Zoning Ordinance addresses parking regulations, junk vehicles, home-based businesses, and outside storage i.e., dumpster/pods, and non-rigid structures. The IPMC regulates exterior property maintenance for all properties as well as interior maintenance for rental properties. The IMPC has certain section inserts specific to The City of Champlin which can be found in the IMPC section inserts.
