Garbage and recycling will be delayed by one day July 4th through the 8th. Service on Monday, July 3rd, will be normal.

  • Tuesday collection will be Wednesday
  • Wednesday collection will be Thursday
  • Thursday collection will be Friday 
  • Friday collection will be Saturday
Champlin is looking for vendors who want to be a part of a Tuesday farmers market.

CHAMPLIN FARMERS MARKET!

July 11th is almost here! That's right, there's a new day, time and location in 2023. Operations are moving from the Ice Forum parking lot to Mississippi Crossings, on Tuesdays from 2-6pm, July 11th to October 10th. Plan to visit weekly to enjoy fresh produce and flowers. Learn more.

JUMP IT UP!

You're invited to a bounce house event at Andrews Park on July 15th from 11am to 4pm. We'll have inflatables (including waterslides) plus food trucks! $12 wristbands available until July 14th.

NIGHT TO UNITE!

It's time to register your block party! The annual crime prevention event will be on the evening of Tuesday, August 1st this year. Make plans to gather with neighbors outdoors. We look forward to stopping by to say hi. Register online.

MC SUMMER SERIES!

Come to Mississippi Crossings to enjoy a summer night on the river. Free entertainment plus food and beverages are available every Thursday with select Fridays and Saturdays. Arrive by boat, car, or bike to 307 East River Parkway. Chairs and blankets are welcome, or the outdoor performance area offers stadium and lawn seating plus there is a playground to entertain kids and lawn games in the plaza. Learn more.

City Council appointed Glen Schneider as Champlin's Chief of Police.

POLICE CHIEF GLEN SCHNEIDER!

Congratulations to Glen Schneider on his appointment to Chief of Police for the Champlin Police Department. We look forward to hosting a community meet and greet; the date and time will post on the City of Champlin website soon. Chief Schneider has dedicated 24+ years of service to our community. BIG TRUCKS & COOL STUFF!

This free event returns August 3rd from 4-7pm in the Public Works Yard. Climb in vehicles and checkout other cool stuff. The Lookout and Minne-Scoop-Ta will be onsite too.

BLASTER BATTLE & MOVIE IN THE PARK!

Wrap up summer August 25th with an epic nerf battle prior to a movie in the park at Andrews. Bring chairs and blankets; this year’s show will be Top Gun Maverick. Learn more.

SPLASH PAD HOURS!

The Andrews Park Splash Pad is open daily, weather permitting. The weather hotline is 763-923-7127. The current 2023 hours of operation are 10am to 7:30pm through September 3rd. Please note, the splash pad will be closed on July 4th in observance of the holiday.

Parks and Recreation is offering Monday through Thursday summer STEM day camps for ages 4-15 this August. The learning will be fun, innovative, challenging, and hands-on. There are a variety of offerings to browse and register online.

SUMMER SPRINKLING RESTRICTIONS!

The mandatory odd-even sprinkling ban is in effect through Labor Day. The ordinance prohibits watering between 10 am and 7 pm. Learn more.

CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS!

Meet the 2023 Mayor and City Council. Regular meetings are held at City Hall, inside Council Chambers, on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.  Agendas are online. Meetings are open to the public and located at 11955 Champlin Drive. Residents are invited to watch it live on QCTV.

GOLF CARTS!

City Council approved the use of golf carts on certain city streets with a city-issued permit. The police department will set up and monitor permits to ensure the safety initiatives put in place are followed. View the rules, authorized roadways, and educational handout.

Work is underway in multiple phases of the 2023 project. If you live in or near the project area, we encourage you to email Champlin Projects and include 2023 Street and Utility Project along with your address in the subject line. This is the most effective way to gain updates. View the map.

Three Rivers Park District is conducting a study on a possible West River Road Trail Project.

West River Road Trail Project Study

Three Rivers Park District is conducting a feasibility study for the development of the West Mississippi River Regional Trail along West River Road in Champlin. The study extends approximately 3.5 miles along West River Road from Hayden Lake Road to 109th Ave N. Three Rivers is hosting virtual informational meeting on July 12th. Learn more.
