The City of Champlin has been preparing for Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) infestation since 2013. The preparations have included studying best practice management and developing an EAB management plan. In March 2018, EAB was confirmed by the Minnesota Dept. of Agriculture to be present in the City of Champlin. City staff have since been working with resident business and homeowners to assist in identifying potential EAB in their ash trees.
