Primary Election: August 14, 2018

(Absentee Voting begins June 29th – All voters can vote by absentee ballot)

General Election: November 6, 2018

Absentee Voting

You can request an absentee ballot online from the Secretary of State’s website absentee application page

You can also request an absentee ballot and vote in person at City Hall. City Hall is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. With extended hours for the Primary Election absentee voting on Saturday, August 11th from 10 a.m .to 3 p.m. and Monday, August 13th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Extended hours for the General Election absentee voting are Saturday, November 3rd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Monday, November 5th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Serve as an Election Judge

Contact the City Clerk at Clerk@ci.champlin.mn.us or 763-923-7111 if you have any questions. Full training is provided for all Election Judges.

Affidavits of Candidacy – File to serve on the City Council

The first day for filing Affidavits of Candidacy is Tuesday, July 31, 2018, and the last day for filing is Tuesday, August 14, 2018.

Offices for filing are:

– Mayor for a four-year term from all wards.

– One Councilmember from Ward One (1) for a four-year term.

– One Councilmember from Ward Two (2) for a four-year term.

Filings will be taken at the office of the City Clerk Monday through Friday from July 31, 2018 to August 14, 2018. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 14, 2018.

Filing fee is $5.00.
