As part of the next phase in the Mississippi Crossings Park Improvement Project, city council approved the Minnesota Wisconsin Playground design, equipment and installation proposal to construct a play area in the 3,300 square foot space between the Event Center and Outdoor Performance Area at Mississippi Crossings.

A natural theme will guide the sloped design and include a top railing, rubber surfacing for fall zone safety, slides, rock climbing, a merry go round, and various other interactive play features.

Terra Construction started the improvement project at Mississippi Point Park in August 2022 and progress is on schedule for completion in fall of 2022. The selection of the playground design, equipment and contractor is part of the overall project.

MC remains focused on activating the riverfront and providing a space for residents to gather as a community.
