Trout Ice Fishing Contest

Our 2024 plans have melted away. The “Frostbite 500” is cancelled due to ice conditions. Refunds are underway (please allow 14 business days to process).

Ready for good news and a special announcement?

Thanks to Realtor Ryan Karasek's sponsorship we will proceed with adding trout to the pond (can't wait to see how big they'll be in 2025) AND we will have a special drawing to give away the new “Frostbite 500” gear. If you preregistered, your name will go into the special drawing and you may be one of the first to have gear with the new Frostbite 500 logo on it! We look forward to seeing you again at the 2025 event!

Feb. 10, 2024 - 5th Annual Contest

Trout Pond - 10377 French Lk. Rd.

We're excited to introduce the "Frostbite 500", a fun new name for the annual winter event.  Back in 2018, when planning began for the first-ever Trout Ice Fishing Contest the vision was to make the event more than just a fishing contest and to come up with a fun name that could grow in the future. After five years of brainstorming, Former Mayor Ryan Karasek partnered with our Parks & Recreation team to come up with the perfect name to rebrand our community event..."Frostbite 500".  The "500" represents the opportunity for 500 lucky participants to take part in this special once-a-year event that features pre-drilled ice fishing spots. Of course, "frost" represents the often-frigid temperatures that take place during the event and "bite" represents the rainbow trout we have roaming the deep waters of the Champlin Trout Pond.
