Permit to Purchase
Individuals interested in obtaining a permit to purchase will need to fill out the online application and await a confirmation call before coming in to visit the Champlin Police Department administrative office in person during the following business hours:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Application
Prior to visiting, please download the Permit to Purchase (PDF) or complete the online form. If doing the online form, please await a confirmation call before coming into the Police Department. Please see below for items you'll need to bring in to finalize the permit.
Applicants are required to bring a Minnesota Driver's License or Minnesota ID card to the Champlin Police Department in person. You must be 18 years old (21 years old for handguns) and a Champlin resident to apply through the Champlin Police Department. If you have moved to Champlin from another city and have not yet had your driver’s license updated to reflect your new Champlin address, you will need to get your driver’s license changed prior to coming in to the Champlin Police Department.
