Gun Permits

Permit to Carry

Please view the Hennepin County Permit to carry a handgun page for information on the process of applying for a permit to carry a pistol in the State of Minnesota.

**In an effort to reduce processing time and duplication of effort, if you possess or are applying for a Minnesota permit to carry through the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, that permit also constitutes a permit to purchase. You do not need to complete both an application for permit to purchase and permit to carry. **
