Swimming Pools

Requirements
Swimming Pool Regulations for pools capable of containing more than 30 inches in depth of water are as follows: A building permit is required, inground or above ground.

1. Provide a safety fence, 4 feet in height, completely enclosing the pool area. Click here for fence guidelines.
   
   
2. Provide a minimum of 36 inches wide of walkway around the pool for rescue.
   
   
3. Provide a safety fence prior to filling the pool with water.
   
   
4. Provide a vacuum breaker on any water connection used to fill the pool.
   
   
5. Provide the following setbacks:
   
   
   1. 10 feet from basement of the house
   2. 5 feet from structures without basements
   3. 5 feet from side and rear lot lines *
      * POOLS CANNOT ENCROACH INTO EASEMENTS
      
      
6. Provide 18 feet 0 inches clearance from water level of pool to overhead power lines.
   
   
7. Provide a latch on any gate in the safety fence.
   
   
8. Any swimming pool (above ground or inground) within the 100 foot critical area from the river, requires a Conditional Use Permit.
