Gun Permits
Those individuals who are interested in obtaining applications to purchase guns or for information must contact the police administrative offices in person. Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
Permit to Purchase
You must be 18 years old (21 years old for handguns) and a Champlin resident to obtain an application. You must also have a Minnesota Driver's License or Minnesota ID card.
Permit to Carry
You must contact the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department — 612-596-7373 — to obtain an application.
