Assessing | Champlin Finance & Budget Department

The Finance Director oversees the Assessing Department, which is responsible for the equitable valuation and classification of all properties within the City of Champlin.  The department maintains records for each parcel of land, including legal descriptions, ownership, property use, homestead classifications and appraised market value.  The department is responsible for a review of each property every five years as required by State Statute to ensure property records are accurate and valuations have been estimated equitable and fairly.

The City contracts with Hennepin County for assessing services including the review of each property every five (5) years and maintaining accurate records of legal description, ownership, property use, classification and appraised value.
