Absentee Voting for the General Election begins September 19
The first step to vote by absentee ballot is to complete the form requesting an absentee ballot. Once this request is received the City will mail you a ballot. If you complete the form in person at City Hall, during the absentee voting period, you will be able to vote at that time.
New this year, you do not need to have an excuse to vote by absentee ballot, as in past elections.
The City of Champlin has four wards and four polling locations. The Wards 1 and 3 polling locations have changed since 2012. Wards 2 and 4 remain the same as in 2012. View the polling location map for the current polling sites.

Minnesota Voter Registration Applications are available at City Hall.
File for Office
You can file for City Office from July 29 to August 12. Open seats this year are for Mayor which is a two-year term serving At-Large, Council member Ward 1 which is a four-year term, and Council member Ward 2 which is a four-year term. Affidavit of Candidacy forms will be available at the office of the City Clerk when filing opens.
