Primary Election: Tuesday, August 12
General Election: Tuesday, November 4
Hours: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Election Day Registration:
Absentee Voting for Primary began June 27
Absentee Voting for the General Election begins September 19
The first step to vote by absentee ballot is to complete the form requesting an absentee ballot. Ballots for the Primary Election are being mailed at this time. If you request a ballot for the General Election it will be mailed on September 19th.
In addition to the online form presented here, forms are available at City Hall. If you complete the application in-person you will be provided your ballot directly.
The City of Champlin has four wards and four polling locations. The Ward 1 and Ward 3 polling locations have changed since 2012. Wards 2 and 4 remain the same as in 2012.
Ward 1 – Servant of Christ Lutheran Church, 740 East Hayden Lake Road
Ward 2 - Ice Forum at Champlin, 12165 Ensign Avenue
Ward 3 - Champlin Brooklyn Park Academy, 6100 109th Avenue
Ward 4 - Jackson Middle School, 6000 109th Avenue
File for Office
You can file for City Office from July 29 to August 12. Open seats this year are for Mayor which is a two-year term serving At-Large, Council member Ward 1 which is a four-year term, and Council member Ward 2 which is a four-year term. Affidavit of Candidacy forms will be available at the office of the City Clerk during the filing period.
