EARTH DAY EVENT

April 22, 2010

4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Veteran’s Memorial Park

505 East Hayden Lake Road

Join the Champlin Environmental Resources Commission (ERC) as they clean-up our shared land, as part of the Great Shingle Creek Watershed Clean-up project, in celebration of Earth Day.

Last year we had 81 volunteers helping to clean up Mississippi Point Park, Chandler Park, Doris Kemp Park, Veterans Memorial Park, Galloway Park, the wooded area behind the Legion and the trail/wetland located behind Target. In total 96 bags of garbage was collected.

The ERC will survey the City prior to the event and select the locations most in need of attention this spring. The event headquarters will be at Veteran’s Memorial Park, located at 505 East Hayden Lake Road, and volunteers will be dispersed from there.

If you are interested in volunteering contact City Clerk Roberta Colotti at (763) 923-7111 or email@ci.champlin.mn.us This is a great project for students looking to earn three hours of service credit and local organizations wanting to volunteer together.
